Athlete Testing Communication
MPS wants to ensure that all high school student athletes stay healthy and keep learning. MPS now requires student athletes to participate in weekly COVID-19 testing. To be exempted from testing, you can provide us with proof of your vaccination status.
If you are fully vaccinated, please show your vaccination card to your school-based clinic or health office.
If you would like to become vaccinated, you can find a vaccine location on this website.
Pick up a test kit from your school-based clinic or health office and complete a test weekly.
Students will use the BinaxNOW rapid nasal test. Check out the step by step instructions to make sure you’re testing correctly.
Students may choose to go to a community testing site or pharmacy to test weekly. Students will need to show proof of a negative test result to their coach prior to participating in their sport for the week. Other testing options:
Order a free saliva test through the state’s at-home testing program.
Check out more testing sites on the state’s Find Testing Locations map.
More information the required weekly testing can be found on MPS Athletic website at https://athletics.mpls.k12.mn.us/
If you require accommodations due to religious or medical reasons please contact Lee.Atakpu@mpls.k12.mn.us.
