ST. PAUL, MN – The Minneapolis Roosevelt Teddies Wrestling team delivered a powerhouse performance yesterday, December 6, 2025, securing a flawless 5-0 record at the St. Agnes Duals Wrestling meet. The Teddies overpowered all five opponents—St. Agnes, Benilde St. Margaret's, St. Paul Johnson, St. Paul Humboldt, and Cretin-Derham Hall—to mark an overwhelmingly successful day on the mat.
The Teddies demonstrated their unmatched dominance in the dual-meet format, posting impressive final scores against all their rivals, including a clutch victory over Cretin-Derham Hall:
Minneapolis Roosevelt defeated Benilde St. Margaret's with a score of 66-11.
Minneapolis Roosevelt defeated St. Paul Humboldt with a score of 41-18.
Minneapolis Roosevelt defeated St. Agnes with a score of 43-28.
Minneapolis Roosevelt defeated St. Paul Johnson with a score of 42-33.
Minneapolis Roosevelt defeated Cretin-Derham Hall with a score of 36-32.
The tight victory over Cretin-Derham Hall and the competitive result against St. Paul Johnson highlight the team's ability to win tough contests that come down to key matches, showcasing their depth and grit.
Several Teddies stepped up to deliver crucial performances, contributing heavily to the team's perfect record. The day's success was bolstered by high-level efforts from key wrestlers who were critical in earning bonus points (pins, technical falls):
James Olvera (121 lbs) and Elliott Karol (189 lbs) continued their strong starts to the season, both coming off impressive second-place finishes at the recent Osseo Invitational. Their consistent wins provided essential points in the close duals.
The girls' wrestling contingent provided top-level points, often through forfeits or wins in contested matches. Sam Hinman (Girls 155 lbs) and Camila Herrer Falksen (Girls 190 lbs), both recent 1st place finishers at Osseo, were instrumental in securing victories in their weight classes, which can swing the momentum of a close dual.
