MINNEAPOLIS, MN - The Minneapolis Roosevelt Boys Soccer program announces Michael (Mick) O’Sullivan as Head Coach for Boys Varsity.
Mick was previously an Assistant Coach for the program, overseeing the JV and B-Squad teams.
My name is Mick O’Sullivan. I was born in London, England, and have been involved in the game of soccer since the age of five—giving me nearly four decades of experience as both a player and coach. I am a United States citizen and have proudly called Minneapolis, Minnesota home for the past 22 years. Over the last 12 years, I have coached soccer throughout the Twin Cities, including the past seven years at Minneapolis United. I currently hold a U.S. Soccer D License and am actively working toward my C License.
I am also a proud father of two sons. My oldest is a sophomore at Roosevelt High School, and my youngest is a seventh-grade student at Sanford Middle School, with plans to join Teddie Nation in 2027. Outside of soccer, I enjoy traveling when possible, fishing, and playing golf. I am extremely excited to continue serving our community and leading the Roosevelt soccer program with passion, commitment, and pride.
I would define success as continuing to build a disciplined, competitive, and sustainable soccer program that develops student-athletes into better players, students, and young men. This means establishing clear standards and accountability, creating a training environment that emphasizes player development and teamwork, and ensuring that athletes are prepared physically, mentally, and tactically to compete at a high level.
Success also includes supporting academic achievement, fostering leadership and character, and helping players learn responsibility, resilience, and respect.
Ultimately, a successful program consistently competes within the conference and section while representing Minneapolis Roosevelt High School and our community with pride, integrity, and professionalism both on and off the field.
Being led by me as your soccer coach means you will be challenged, supported, and genuinely cared for. You will be pushed to raise your standards, compete with purpose, and take responsibility for your growth on and off the field. Expectations will be clear and consistent, and accountability will be part of the daily culture.
At the same time, you will be supported through teaching, encouragement, and honest feedback. You will know that your coach is invested in you not just as a player, but as a student and a young man. Every challenge comes from a place of belief and commitment to your success, and every standard is rooted in respect, trust, and a genuine desire to help you become the best version of yourself.
