The varsity baseball boys had a close game with the Trinity School at River Ridge on Saturday, April 22nd. Unfortunately, it ended in a loss, with the score 10-8.

Trinity took a massive lead in the first couple innings, with two RBI triples and one RBI single, earning five runs. During the bottom 2nd, Roosevelt a nice rally, in which Reid Gunderson and Grayson LaCombe both hit RBI singles and Reshawn Barrett stole home plate, scoring four successful runs for the team.

Trinity scored a RBI double in the third inning, leading the score at 8-4. Roosevelt didn’t score again until the 4th inning, when Dylan Holte hit an RBI single, and stole home base.

In the 5th inning, Odin Mueller hit an impressive RBI double, to score two more points for the team. Trinity scored an RBI single in the 6th, and the rest of the game went on without anything else scored.

“We started off pretty bad as a team,” Holte stated about how the team did. “Some of us were yelling and swearing at each other, but towards the end we started doing a lot better. We were cheering and trying to make a comeback, and we kind of did.”

When asked about what needed to improve, Holte said everything needed work, from hitting to fielding, throwing and running.

A highlight of their game was Colton’s double play.

Their next game is away, against Patrick Henry. Their next home game is on May 1st, and it’s against Cristo Rey Jesuit at 5:00. Stop by Bossen Field to cheer them on!
